Damaged Retina
Your eyes are particularly susceptible to conditions such as hypertension. Capillaries - the smallest type of blood vessels - supply blood to the retina, the part of the eye that receives visual images. In patients with hypertension, the pressure can burst these fragile capillaries and blood can leak into the retina. In extremely advanced cases of hypertension, this can cause problems with vision.
