Hypertension Age Risk Factor
Risk of hypertension increases with age. Twenty-nine percent of adults aged 18 years and older have hypertension, a number that more than doubles by 60 years of age. Although age-related damage is inevitable, cardiovascular disease is not a necessary consequence of aging. Chronic conditions such as hypertension and high cholesterol and their consequences can be treated and managed, or better yet, avoided all together.
