Breast Cancer Stages (Summary Staging)
Stage 0 = noninvasive, or in situ (in one place)
Stage I = localized in breast tissue
Stage II = <2 cm and spread to axillary lymph nodes, 2-5 cm and possible spread to axillary lymph nodes, >5 cm with no spread to lymph nodes, no tumor found in breast but found in axillary lymph nodes
Stage III = large, locally advanced cancer, spreading to lymph nodes all around breast
Stage IV = distant metastatic cancer, spread to distant parts of the body
