Dragon fruit, also known as pitaya, is a sweet fruit with an unusual appearance: green, pointed leaves similar to those on the crown of a pineapple rise from the red skin of the pitaya in a shape like flames, and the fruit`s white pulp is flecked with small black seeds (which are not typically consumed). Dragon fruit contains significant levels of Vitamin C, carotene, calcium, and B vitamins, in addition to other nutrients.
