Water Molecule
Water is a simple molecule comprised of two hydrogen atoms attached to one oxygen atom. Water has a neutral pH of 7, yet dissolves more substances than any other liquid. Unique physical and chemical properties enable water to be consumed in the diet, absorbed into the bloodstream, exchanged with organ tissues, and released as a liquid (urine) or gas (perspiration, breath).
In this model, both hydrogen and oxygen atoms are shown in blue.
