CHAPTER 4
Daily Protein Intake
There are many factors that play into your daily protein requirements, including body weight, level of physical activity, age, gender, rate of growth, other nutrients consumed, genetic makeup, and existing conditions. Learn about why it is important to get enough protein in your diet, and how these values are different for men and women. Remember that it is the entire protein package that is important when deciding on which foods should supply your daily allowance; avoid foods that are high in protein but also high in saturated fat, for example.
