Tip #1
The consequences of allowing stress to rule our life are not only emotional. Physical structures throughout the human body take a beating. Tiny spines on the dendrites of nerve cells are worn away by the effects of stress hormones. Stress also affects the immune response and is associated with increased fat around the organs, which is a serious health risk. A zone at the tail-end of each chromosome, called a telomere, unravels as we age. In recent years, scientists have found that when we are under stress, telomeres come apart more quickly.

I have learnt a lot about myself by reading your books and blog. Today I read about the effects of stress on oneself. My work involves interacting with children with severe mental health issues. It is as you know not a very calming or relaxing environment. But I love these kids and feel very connected. I often feel my life purpose is try to understand and help these kids. I look forward to seeing them everyday. I often told by my friends that I am crazy to do this work. How do I balance out the stress that I encounter with what I really want to do.
