Deepak Chopra, MD - Deepak’s 2009 Resolution as seen in People Magazine
“For 2009, your first resolution should be, ‘ I will make relationships the first priority and consumption the last.’ That’s the most important thing you can do.”

Very true indeed Mr. Chopra. We tend to consume all things, food, people’s emotions, and relationships in general for our gain. We need to be humbled and put others first. A little more selflessness rather selfish behavior can greatly make a positive shift in our connective/collective conciousness! We need to put our personal differeces aside and realize that we all come from one source. If we can’t realize this, then the road to enlightnement is hampered. If learn to practice what Louise Hay preaches, forgive but not necesssarily forget then we are on a much better path. We need to forgive people. We may not end up their best friend, but we need to forgive and put forth positive love rather than negative hatred 24/7. Once this is done, our conscious is cleared and we can obtain a clearer connection with the Tao, the universe, kali Ma, shiva, Jesus, Allah or whatever you want to call it. By finding the God in people, perhaps our own self realization and connection to the universe is clearer. After all with our egos aside are we not all a slice of the source just having a human experience? If we want to trancend this karmic cycle of death and rebirth we must realize that the idiot we hate so much has a piece of us in them, and to hate them means we only hate ourselves and ultimately the source which both of us come from. Therefore trying to understand and feel the source, the Tao etc. becomes harder, for by pushing hatred towards someone, we push hatred towards the universe. Even terrorists, Bill O’Reily and other idiots in the world. In the end as offensive and deadly as they among others can be, they contain an atma, or a soul, which is identical to ours. All we can do is love them as a spirutal being, and pity the hell which they create for themselves every time they do what they do. I guess my ultimate sermon through all of this, is to find what connects us rather than what seperates us. This will help us to maintain good reationships, and will propel us toward enlightenment, rather than hamper us from it.

A well phrased, succint and subtly all encompassing statement of resolution Deepak. The less confusion for the mind, the better. Thank you Deepak, walt
